What you see and what you think has everything to do with what you create and who you are as an artist.
Your art is supposed to be your own vision. We see you through the vision you show us. It is our way of knowing what you’re thinking. What we see helps us to understand who you are. It is meant to show us how you see the world. It tells us what you believe is important enough for our attention. Like it or not, each image you create reveals a little more of what you think, what you see and who you are.
You are supposed to be what you think. You are supposed to be what you believe. Your vision is supposed to be what your eyes see. Your art needs to have our trust that what you show us is what you believe needs to be seen.
The viewer needs to trust that what you project through your artistic work is the real artistic you. They need to believe that what you show is worth their time, their willingness to look, and their attempts to understand the what and the why of what you have to show.
Your photographs are a reflection of you. They are a self-portarit of sorts and a mirror of your self.
Stay true to who you want the world to know. Photograph with your heart, your conscience, your mind, your eyes and your soul.
It will make you a better mirror for the rest of us to see.
